Biography
The Telaphones. Definitely gold that glistens.
Britpop in the 21st century. That's how sassy the young Swiss band Telaphones sounds, presently conquering the Swiss stages.
A cracking story. Love 'em or hate 'em, no ifs and buts.
Since October 05 the Telaphones inspire the crowds with their melodious guitar pop and their youthful charm. Catchy tunes beguile the audience and make it clear that this is not a cookie-cutter band with moderate ambitions.
Fresh and cheeky, but not overly bizarre - the Telaphones from Zürich.
Angelo Repetto (voc/guit), Sandro Alvarez (keys/voc) and Adrian Schindler (drums) found the band in October 04 and immediately begin recording the piled-up songs from their earlier bands. The result is the production of their self-directed debut album. In January 05 Claudio Decurtins (guit/voc) and Thierry Specker (bass) join the crew, completing the band.
Finally, in mid-October 05, the long-awaited moment arrives: after half a year of recording, mixing, and the professional mastering by Klaus Röthlisberger, the Telaphones release their first album "Go for Gold".
Henceforth nothing can stop them from rocking the stages and from delivering the truly golden disc to the world.
Whoever hears them, comes to think of the nineties. They may remind us of bands such as Shed Seven, Oasis in early days, Blur or the Charlatans. But anyone wanting to compare them to the above-mentioned bands shoots himself in the foot. Because the Telaphones are the melting pot of the nineties paired with the 21st century!
So listen to the disc and hop on the bandwagon: it's generally known that chasing after it is more strenuous!
