Biography
Tex-T was born Terence Chatman in 1975, Wellington Tx. As a child he was introduced and blessed with a love for music. He has, "the ear". Being a product of hip-hop himself, it was only right to be drawn into the wonderful world of music. At the age of fourteen he spit his first flow with a group of peers and found that he was good at it. He began writing, but not too much, the cipher circle was his home. Leaving Texas and moving to Denver, colorado actually started his writing career. Always with music and lyrics on the mind he picked up some skills on the ones and twos. Eventually he went back to rappin and stayed there. As with most youths tryin to put bread on the table he got into the dope game. During the year of 2001 he was dealt a bullet as a wake up call. Sensing his thoughts of retaliation, his mother decided to move him to Houston, Texas. For the past ten he has been finding and making his way to this point. He represents the south side of H-Town, "below the beltway", G-county to the fullest. " There's a need for Houston to be represented in a way that has not been represented". his music is influenced by the south, west, east, and midwest/north. You might hear him speaking of those southern influences, but he is'nt steeped in it. "I grew up on Street Military,Ghetto Boyz, Odd Squad, and a host of other southern rappers, but if I was to pick one coast it would be the east". "That's who I gravitated to, the raw ruggednes was appealing to me". The Leaders of the New Schools, Heltah Skeltah, Wu-Tang are who he talked about. "I loved the unity these crews had and the way they bounced and fed off of each other, and still do". Don't catagorize this guy, he makes music due to what the tracks tell him, he feels it.
