Biography
Originally from Cape Town, South Africa, That African is now a fixture in the Vancouver underground. Coming from a hip hop and trip hop back ground, he has been involved in music since the tender age of 16. Currently, That African performs solo, as part of hip hop heavy hitters the Eh Yo, and as part of the ingeniously funky 7 piece hip hop act the Indigo Kids.
Expect to hear a repertoire spanning multiple genres (think funk, swing, downtempo, hip hop, trip hop, sexy lounge, and all manner of bass music) sprinkled with a healthy dose of turntablism.
