Biography
After months of discussion between two best friends, Clark and Watson, The Banter Thief’s formed in late 2007 made up of four young lads from Motherwell. Line up changes were a regular occurrence for the energetic-indie four piece but now two of the original members David Clark and Derek Watson are complete with lead guitarist Keith Condie and drummer Darren O’Rourke. The band have recorded four tracks to help complete their first EP which should be released later in the year as well as playing various venues all over the UK in cities such as Dundee, Edinburgh, Accrington, Leeds, Manchester and Glasgow. Playing famous venues like the well-known King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, Dundee’s favourite – The Doghouse and Manchester’s Moho, The Banter Thiefs have started to gain a well deserved following of avid fans who travel all over Scotland to join in with favourite songs such as ‘Don’t Forget Where You Come From’ and ‘Levi Toi.’ Over the next few years the band aim to increase the ever-growing fan base by travelling far and wide to spread to the word of drunken teenage tales and enjoy a pint with the locals while making sure they don’t forget The Banter Thiefs
