Biography
The Bone Collectors is a Cape Town-based rock band. They are an energetic 5-piece of suburban misfits, presenting good-time swinging blues, rockabilly and boogie with a dark and bitter twist. Bored with the familiar rock formula, and believing that the simplest tools are the most effective, these boney brothers of backyard blues revert to the tools of old, discarding the electric guitar attack in favour of duelling acoustic guitar and saxophone, laid over a thump'n'clank bedrock of bass, drums and percussion.
Slinky, shadowy songs of sin recall the livelier moments of Tom Waits, Johnny Cash and Nick Cave, with enough swing borrowed from the likes of Chuck Berry and the Rolling Stones to keep even the heaviest feet
moving. The Bone Collector boys live and breathe for sweaty, intimate, dancing-on-the-tables live performance, and want nothing more than to send revellers home with a smile on their dial.
