There are two jazz orchestras with the name The Charleston Chasers, with the contemporary one named in tribute to the 1920s version.
1) Consisting of a rotating roster of some of the era's top-flight jazz artists, The Charleston Chasers existed only in name and never performed outside the studio. According to The Red Hot Jazz Archive (http://www.redhotjazz.com/charleston.html) the name was used at the Columbia label by various bands, including Red Nichols & His Five Pennies and The Original Memphis Five. It was not unusual at the time for a jazz group to perform or record under a variety of different names.
2) Jazz orchestra formed in England in 1987 and playing music from the period of their namesake, they were described on their website as "Europe's Favourite Hot Vintage Orchestra".
