Great band with a huge body of work. Steve Kilbey has to be the most prolific man in rock.

Comparing two of my favorite bands!!! I would say Early 80s goes to Cure by far. End 80s still goes to Cure but not by much. 90s goes to Church particularly with Gold Afternoon Fix and Priest=Aura. 00s goes to Church even if both bands lost quite a bit. 10s also goes to Church with average albums against non existent ones for Cure. Hopefully they both come back strong in the 20s.

Nice. I think Robert Smith has confirmed a new album for this year? I don't know if that's a guarantee but we'll see

Одна из лучших групп пост-панка, альбомы 80-ых практически эталон жанра. "Starfish" так и вовсе шедевр.

My high school chemistry teacher liked to play CDs during labs. One day he played Priest=Aura. This was in 1993. The Church very quickly became one of my favorite bands, and still are to this day. Incredibly, they're still releasing great music. What an amazing overall discography. Thank you Mr. O'Connell!

i have a weirdly parallel story to this. one day in late 1992 i walked into my chemistry class in high school and "Ripple" was playing on the stereo. i was floored because the only radio station that played that song (or The Church in general) changed musical formats a few months earlier. i found out from the teacher that he had a semi-local college station on that i didn't know about, and i started listening to that station regularly after that.

Музон и стайл очень вторичные, но слушать их хорошо, приятно. Я раньше так The Essence гонял.

For everyone interested, Steve Kilbey is making an album together with Frank Kearns but they still need some money to release it. You can pre-order the album on CD or mp3, and a variety of other things, on this site: http://www.pledgemusic.com/projects/speedofthestars/ This will help them get the album released! From the snippets of the songs I heard, it sounds great.

The instrument is an Ebow on an electric guitar recorded on a synclavier. It makes it sound like a bagpipe. Big Country used that very often in their early albums.

Dog equals pyramid was a bad album and they have been very boring since. If they broke up in 1990 before their main influence was drugs they would have been great.
