Biography
Early Blues beat band from Liverpool, released "There She Is" and "Tears fell" on the Decca label in 1965.
Formed by Mr George Roberts and Mr Terry Hines of Liverpool during 1963.
Jointly managed by Mr George Roberts and Mr Bob Wooler of Cavern Artists Ltd at and from, the original Cavern Club Mathew Street Liverpool.
Rehearsed at 54 Huskisson Street Liverpool.
Resident at the Hope Hall Everyman at Hope street Liverpool.
Toured all over the UK during 1964.
Original line up in this order;
Terry Hines, Bobby Scott, Pete Dunne and Mike Evans all at Liverpool 8.
Predicted as;
"The next big wave of talent out of Liverpool", during 1965 by the late great Bob Wooler of the Original Cavern Club, Liverpool.
(after the Beatles and all Mr Brian Epstein's bands!)
"Out of Liverpool"; they came with a, 'Bang' of near pure Blues and Soul sounds that Englishmen could get at that point in music history!
The Clayton Squares were the first band to back the Liverpool poets at Didsbury TV studios, Manchester, Padgate teachers Training College and many other venues, including Hope Hall, Liverpool now the Everyman Theater.
The poets were, Adrian Henri, Roger McGough, Mike McGear, (brother to Paul McCartney) and John Gorman.
The band dis-banded within a year of Mr Roberts, sudden and unexpected departure. He was the glue that held the band together!!
