the clerics
magnae quassationes- released October 2006
The latest release from the Clerics…Magnae Quassationes. The new eight song CD by Chicago's reclusive Clerics, has found a home on RoosterCow Records. Magnae Quassationes (Latin for Great Shakes) was recorded by Scott Ramsayer at Two Rooms Studios in Chicago in June of 2005. After fermenting for over a year, this soon-to-be classic album has finally been mixed into a heady batch of guitar-laden rock. With the help of spiritual mentalist and multi-instrumentalist, Brian Welsh who provided bass, keyboards, and backing vox, the Clerics have never sounded so good.
Featuring 4 1/2 members: Chris Butler (Guitar), Robbie Butler (drums), Tim Davison (guitar), Paul Johnson (vocals, guitar), and sometime cleric Brian Welsh (bass).
Raised from the ashes of Fairmount Girls and New Rob Robbies, the Clerics have also released a self-titled 7" EP on Rooster Cow records.
