Biography

There have been at least four bands using the name The Clerks since the late 1970's. In chronological order they are:
1. English Power Pop Punk Band 2. English Classical Choral Group 3. German Ska Band 4. French Indie Band. The English Pop Punk Band broke up in the early 80's. The German Ska/Reggae/Offbeat band still continue to play and release material as does the English Choral Group. The French band residing in Stockport, England who released their only single The Dissidents on Leeds-based label Art Goes Pop in summer 2006. In Spring 2007 they broke up, with three members of the band going on to form Maudite Dance.

The English Classical Choral Group now have several albums to their credit, starting with Don't Talk - Just Listen!

The Power Pop Punk band called The Clerks formed in England in 1977 amidst the burgeoning Punk scene and in 1979 released a vinyl single 'No Good for Me' and two tracks on a compilation LP 'Odd Bods Mods and Sods', on ROK Records, and then in 1980 recorded 'Dancing With My Girl' a limited edition vinyl EP on 'Puddiscs'.
