here u go! copied from wikipedia haha Money was short, so the album was recorded and mixed in seven days on a budget of between £2,000 and £3,000, which resulted in the band working 16 or 17 hours a day. Smith stated that as a result, the track "The Final Sound", which was planned to be much longer, was cut down to 53 seconds because the tape ran out while recording and band could not record it again.

The early Cure's fascination with unfinished and half-produced songs never ceases to amaze me. I think the only truly finished songs from The Cure's early period are "A Forest", "Boys Don't Cry", and, maybe, "Jumping Someone Else's Train". This band demonstrates why amateurism is so powerful and captivating even though it's probably a sentimental fallacy.

I agree with chuy_anubis...somehow I don't think the transition between this and A Forest would have worked nearly as well had we been given the full length version as it was originally intended.

The perfect intro for A Forest ... just listen how the tape ends drastically, it just creates the perfect atmosphere of chaos
