Utrecht, The Netherlands (2008 – present)
The Daddy Long Legs is an indie/alternative rock band formed in Utrecht, The Netherlands in 2008 after meeting at the Pop Music Academy. The band consists of London (vocals), Ike (guitar), Jenny (bass), Kim (drums) and Hanan (guitar, vocals). The band was formed by 5 friends who took lessons in the Pop Music Academy in Bunschoten. At first, the band preformed in small clubs. Later on, they jumped into the studio recording some songs and are playing in festivals (they were on the Ogononogo! list at Lowlands 2010).
Their influences are diverse and quite tasty: Angus & Julia Stone, Arctic Monkeys, Black Box Revelation, Bloc Party, Electric Six, Coldplay, Conor Oberst, Five O'Clock Heroes, Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Ghinzu, Headphone, Exodus, Joy Division, Kasabian, Maximo Park, Muse, Operator Please, Placebo, Radiohead, Reverend & The Makers, Simon Sings, Scissor Sisters, Snow Patrol, The Breeders, The Kaiser Chiefs, The Stooges, The Killers, The Kooks, The Strokes, The Temper Trap, The Yeah Yeah Yeah's, Thirteen Senses and Viva la Fete.
