Biography
The Demo Saou were an art and music collective, formed in 2003 in Antwerp, Belgium, and eventually disbanded in different projects in 2014.
The history of the band began when four Flemish indie bands (The Y, Rampage, Walhalla and Eglectic Murder) came together at a jam venue held by the artgroup Nitwit in 2002. There they all decided that the tense experimental eclectic part of creating music was to be one of the most important features. Starting off from the musicians in the forementioned four bands, together and with many more different artists (musically and visually) they formed their expressionist concept.
In early 2003 they started recording together under the name The Demo Saou. Most members of the collective say the name originates from a line of one of Brandon Dicamillo's freestyle-rap songs, although by now no one is certain who came up with this name for the group.
The Demo Saou started out with an abundance of demo tracks (for example their selfreleased debut album The Demo EP being a compilation of mainly lo-fi recordings), and entering quite a few rock rally competitions.
But after they finished their second album Suddenly Tragic in 2004 (under the now independent label Nitwit Records, started by the same artists of the original art/jam venues), the core members realised the past competitions haven't worked out that well so that they'd focus more on writing and creating new things and slightly less on live performing.
The years afterwards have been rather extensive (with more and more experimental visual shows) with diverse recordings and gathering various types of artists to join in on the collective, but the four musicians that were there from the beginning are:
Matt Collignon (Electric guitar, vocals)
Trent Collignon (Bass guitar, vocals, media)
Karlien Devriesse (Vocals, electric guitar)
Dries Stevens (Drums and percussions)
The Demo Saou as one band quit in early 2014 'cause of the extensive amount of side-projects. Other music originated from The Demo Saou collective are:

- Holigays
