1. Virginia based Thomas Kercheval founded the Dissidents in 1990 as an outlet for his anthemic songwriting. With a sound that blended folk elements with a more traditional rock sound (somewhat reminiscent of Big Country) the Dissidents made some inspiring music and released 2 full length albums, Valiant and Guunysack.
