Biography

The Dry Heeves are cultural analysts who use electronic music as their dissemination medium of choice. Under the direction of C. MacDonald and J. D. MacNeil, the Dry Heeves hail from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. Their meditatively eccentric compositions can be overwhelming at first, but once assimilated, they become invigorating, cleansing, genuinely hilarious and frequently gratifying. Shifting from rock to experimental, to tribal, to folk, to metal, to ambient, to noise and to full-blown electronica, the Dry Heeves take the listener on a bizarre journey that is laughable, disturbing, and strange.

In September 2002 the Dry Heeves released a full-length CD of experimental material, Mockba Rockba, available only in Russia. In January 2003 a new full-length album, Everything's Gone Pseudo, was officially released (with major airplay in Canada, Iceland, South Africa, Switzerland, France, Macedonia, Germany, Luxembourg and Australia). This was followed in September 2004 by Music For Psych Wards, a groundbreaking 79-minute electronica symphony in 9 movements. In 2005, they embarked on a series of remixes for such artists as Laurent Garnier, Tim Gerwing, the Chemical Brothers and Bjork. In 2005 the experimental net album, …and I'll Call Rusty, was unveiled. And in 2006 an EP for the francophone world, Napoleon Bandeapart, was unleashed as well as an EP for the Germanic world, Essen Sie Scheisse.

In 2007 an EP for the Sound Aid project to fight world povertry thru music, Canada Calling, was donated. Stay tuned for 420, an audio critique of metal, rock, and all of the sub-genres.

A splendid time is guaranteed for all!
