Biography
The Elected Officials is an anarcho-hardcore punk band from Austin Tx and Santa Fe New Mexico. The members are drummer Shane Pennington, guitar player Jay Minton, vocalist Sophie Rousmaniere, and bassist Brian Shannon. Former members of Systema Nerviosa, 32 Fingers, Atomic Influx, Bootleg, Our Mother of Sorrow, and at least 15 other bands, The Elected Officials delivers ripping punk rock reminiscent of The Dead Kennedys, Bikini Kill, DOA, and DRI. With lyrics about corporate money in politics, big box stores, religious pundits of oppression and other modern woes The Elected Officials is truly a Political Punk rock band for our modern times.
Santa Fe, NM drummer Shane Pennington was previous renowned for his work with Chopper Sick Balls and the monumental Sistema Nervioso. The Elected Officials started in 2010. They are a hardcore punk band.
