Biography
The Empire Ends is a London based post hardcore group created by Justin Lee. The band's studio line-up consists of Justin along with his brother Appleseed on drums and Matthew Scott Olivier on vocals. Their debut EP, Start, is due to be released on June 2, 2009.
The Empire Ends began after Justin ended a series of projects playing guitar for several bands. Dissatisfied with playing other peoples’ music, Justin enlisted the help of Appleseed and in the spring of 2008 the two began work on the music for their debut EP. After a long search, Justin found a lead vocalist in Matthew in the fall of 2008.
Their sound is a state of two parts. On one hand there are frenetic aggressive vocals and pulse pounding double kick drums. On the other, there are melodic guitar phrasings and atmospheric backing vocals. Complete opposites of one another, the two alters are able to co-exist in harmony. Their music teeters on the edge of release before letting go with full fury.
