Biography
The Eve is an indierock/postrock band residing in Joure, Friesland, The Netherlands. Official site: www.the-eve.com.
The Eve released their debut EP Behaviour Of Men in september of 2009, and the 4 songs are freely available at their website and their various social networks.
The band was previously known as Thoughts Create The World and has already released three albums via the independent recordlabel Momirecordings. Since TCTW was joined by bassplayer Adriaan in september 2008 their style has shifted from folky acoustic postrock to indierock, featuring more electric guitars and more concise arrangements. After playing some shows with their new set the band decided to change their name to The Eve in may of 2009, finalizing the gradual shift in style.
The band played their first show to positive reviews at the Into The Great Wide Open festival on september 4, 2009, this being the first official show under the new moniker The Eve. This was also the release-show of their Behaviour Of Men EP, which is freely available via their website/bandcamp-page.
In 2012 The Eve released a second EP via their new/second bandcamp-page, featuring six new songs recorded over a 3 year period. These six songs are completely self recorded and produced, featuring a grander sound and more complex arrangements. The band made a stop motion video for the track 8501 indie.
In 2013 the band went on hiatus, with the members branching off to different projects, including a cover-band. All the members continued to play and record with each other but no new The Eve material has surfaced.
In 2015 nearly all the members of The Eve plus some more friends/bands reconvened and formed the band BTMXXX (pronounced Betamaxxx), after starting a non profit cultural foundation including a music school and a studio. In 2016 the first recordings by BTMXX surfaced via their bandcamp and soundcloud pages:
