Doppelganger is iconic but the rest of their stuff is super underrated. Really fun to listen to.

Currentley switching between “Act One, Scene Two” and “Chain Wallet, Nike Shoes” over and over on Spotify because I have free, but it’s worth it. Great songs.

super duper long shot but does anyone know exactly when in '04 that The Ghostship Demos leaked (pretty sure through myspace iirc?). I wanna know, for science.

I believe they originally uploaded the demos to myspace and purevolume around Autumn 04 - the best evidence of this is an interview with the band from 2005 where they mention "Four of the Ghostship demos leaked late last year", combined with evidence from the first capture of their myspace page on wayback machine from March 22nd 2005, which shows "Pt. IV Lyrics" in their recent blog posts, suggesting that they were posting about those songs around that time! Certainly not hard evidence, but I hope it helps with the science (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

just found out that TFoT were responsible for getting Heavy Heavy Low Low signed. HHLL replied to mathcoreindex on instagram saying so.

Вижу, тут многие вспоминают "Doppelganger", но ведь "Manipulator" во всех отношениях на голову выше...

yo uh for some reason my scrobbles Mouths Like Sidewinder Missiles from both the S/T and Doppelgänger get amalgamated into the Doppelgänger version. Is this happening to anyone else? When it comes up on my recently played it's listed as having been scrobbled to their S/T but in my top tracks the Doppelgänger track just keeps climbing lmao.

Because they have the same track name they will combine as one in your track charts. If you click the number of plays for that track, it will list out each time and date you listened to it. In that line it will also show what album it is from, and here you can see it is scrobbling both albums seperately (just with the illusion as only one because for whatever reason the Doppelganger album art trumps out the S/T). You can also see that both will scrobble separately if you click into each album respectively. And it's a pain but if you think its not accurate you can always go back to that screen where it lists each individual play and edit the scrobble to change what album it is from. Hope this helps!

bro i revisit it sometimes. there's nothing quite like it in my life. i had some friends in college who were serious musicians and they introduced me to it. it's really a landmark album in my understanding of the possibilities of music fr fr i know that sounds lame but it's real talk

So i noticed i had 1700 scrobbles of these guys in my library and hadn't listened to them properly for over 10 years, listening through their discography today and it's bringing back a lot of good memories, a lot of memories of people who aren't in my life anymore but I shared good times with. They were always my go to band from around 2005-2008. Really enjoying their latest records too, glad they got back together to make music again. Feeling genuinely happy

Since you stopped after the second song: What did you think of the whole album? I didn’t mind Chain Wallet, Nike Shoes that much.

It’s not as good as their first three albums but I liked it. It’s a fun listen especially ‘Mirrors Are More Fun Than Television’.

I guess I'll be the turd in the punch bowl... Mukiltearth is, meh. And I hate saying that, because I believe Martyrs Among the Casualties is among Erak and Co's best material(along with S/T and Ghostship Demo). Guitar tone is weak and should be front and center. Harsh vocals are even weaker. The new songs are alright. But I'll take that ancient EP over this thing any day of the week . Sure it sounded like it was recorded on a toaster in a garage, but there was passion, intensity and creativity all over that EP. I'd have rather had a fully new album, than an slew of limp wristed remakes. Although I admit, The Day The Strength of Men Failed is the best song here, as it was on that ancient EP.

Although I also strongly disagree, “recorded on a toaster in a garage” describes their early sound pretty accurate.

OK kinda was a self fulfilling prophecy in it's title and I never really expected to really be into this band again, but.... Damn Mukiltearth is SUCH a coherent album. Probably the most cohesive thing they've put out since Doppelganger. And they've tamped down the spazzy tendencies to make it just mature enough for their aging audience, I think (me. Am old.). Erak's lyrics have improved tenfold, as well. Some stuff on OK was kinda cringe and he really seems on top of his game on this one. I'm forced to continue to stan.
