The Friends of Natasha (Hebrew: Ha-Chaverim shel Natasha החברים של נטאשה) is a renowned Israeli rock band formed in 1987, known for their blend of rock with emotional, introspective lyrics that reflect societal issues. Their music is subtly political and deeply impactful.
Early Formation and Breakthrough
The band was formed by Micha Shitrit and Arkadi Duchin. Their 1989 debut album החברים של נטאשה ("Ha-Chaverim shel Natasha") earned critical acclaim despite not achieving commercial success. Their 1991 follow-up שינויים בהריולי הצריחה ("Shinuim Be-Hergulei Hatzricha" - "Changes in Screaming Patterns") propelled them into mainstream fame with iconic tracks like על קו הזינוק (“Al Kav HaZinuk" - "On the Starting Line"), עוד נגיעה ("Od Negi'a" - "Another Touch"), and שני סיפורי אהבה קטנים ("Shnei Sipurei Ahava Ktanim" - "Two Small Love Stories").
