Biography

The Gadjo Players are an acoustic string band from Madison, Wisconsin. They play a variety of styles of music, from Gypsy swing and Latin to Bluegrass and Celtic. Formed in January 2005, The original line-up consisted of Mike Kratochwill on guitar, Matt Krueger on octave mandolin, Ben Johnson on upright bass, and Nate Hess on mandolin. After playing a number of cafe's and jazz bars, the Gadjos went to the studio to record an album full of original numbers. On February 2007, their debut album Between Two Waters was finished. Near the end of the recording sessions, Nate Hess left to pursue his dreams to learn guitar construction. Violinist Amber Dolphin became a member of the band shortly after. At the moment, the Gadjos are still playing gigs in the Madison area and will soon work on recording their new album.
