Australian rap band The Herd's song about the public's overturning of right-wing Liberal Prime Minister John Howard's toppling by the new Labor Government under Kevin Rudd, who has Irish ancestry. Howard was the unpopular comeback King after another Irish descendant and Labor PM Paul Keating beat him in the 1980s and engaged Australia in a new trade relationship and dialogue with Asia and was a folk hero Down Under for guiding the Queen by the elbow, for which the British press called him 'The Lizard of Oz'. Keating was credited for deregulating the economy. lowering interest rates from an all-time high under Howard in the 1980s and removing protectionist policies of the Tories. The King is Dead is about the relief of finally getting rid of Howard again.
