Biography

Originally The Hitchcock Rules formed as a session band in 2004 to record the album ‘Issue #1’. With Front man Ryan Jones playing keys and guitars, Drummer, Rich Mulryn, Bassist, Stewart Trewheller and Guitarists, Dan Cole and A.J lornie. The album was finished and the band decided to stay together for a few shows touring their own very special brand of Indie Rock music. They quickly began to sell out local venues as well as selling out of their debut album.

After creating their own label “First aid records” to function as record company, promotions company and booking agents alike the band began to move into the national arena.

The Hitchcock Rules have toured extensively, playing well over three hundred dates around the U.K including Leicester University; the cavern club Liverpool, Beautiful Days festival, the Princes pavilion, Rip curl board masters and many more.

Industry magazine ‘Music week’ featured the band in their April issue as well as cover mounting track ‘The #91 Bus’ from the first E.P ‘Bookmarks Page 1’. So to did Orange music week and Bristol Fringe magazine. They were recently featured on E4 and T4 playing the festival circuit and were described by Hamish Clark from Breaks Co-op and Narina Pallet in an interview with ‘Pop world’ as “the highlight of the ‘Nokia unleashed festival’.” They have also been receiving consistent levels of air play on national stations such as Capital fm, BBC stations and regional Indie stations. As well as wining the south west competition for the best regional band with Pirate fm Judged by Nick Mason and Tim smit.

Over the last two years the band have built up a fantastic fan base and sell out all of their local gigs but they are also being booked to play around the country on bills with acts such as Starsailor, Graham Coxon, ALO, Kubb, The Webb Sisters, The Beautiful Girs, The monkeys and more.

The band are now looking forward to a year of festivals and touring throughout Europe. With a growing fan base, a lot of media support and their latest album due out in July 2007, it should be an exciting year for The Hitchcock Rules where anything could happen…
