Two artists have used the name The Hood:
1) John Hood was a legendary NYC party promoter/doorman and writer. The Hood was his project for the Beth B. film/soundtrack ''Salvation! (Original Soundtrack)''. He was also signed Sire and is nowadays active on the club scene in South Beach, Miami, FL.

The Hood Internet is a Chicago-based band specializing in mashups of hip-hop (from the mainstream to the undergound) with indie rock. They also run a blog of the same name through which they release their music, a venture that helped them earn notability as a minor internet phenomenon in late 2007. The Hood Internet is comprised of Aaron Brink (aka ABX) and Steve Reidell (aka STV SLV). The duo originally played together in the Chicago-based indie rock band May Or May Not, of which Reidell is still a member.
