Biography
The band officially formed in the summer of 2006 in Lisbon, and its current line up consists of Gonçalo Larsen - Guitar / Vocals, Ricardo Ferreira - Bass / Chorus and Pedro Veiga - Drums / Chorus
The band spent a year working on their first demo entitled "Coming Out Loud" which was released in 2007 and was quickly labeled energetic and frenetic. The Hypers soon received fantastic reviews in the magazine Underworld, and began playing in several cities all over the country. The singles "Close To Me" and "The Voice of the Broken Generation" were featured in some national radios with emphasis on Antena 3, Radar Radio, Radio University of Coimbra, Rádio Universidade do Minho, etc. ..
In 2008, The Hypers participated in a festival organized by MTV Portugal and Levi's, and that same year recorded the second demo "Wreckage of a Riot."
In 2010 they played at the final of the Thermometer Unplugged Festival, organized by Fernando Alvim, and in that same year they won two important competitions on the same night, allowing them to edit their first EP "The Hypers" in March 2011.
Recently released their latest single "You're Never Too Old to Rock", which includes the participation of Selma Uamusse from Wraygunn, Soulbizness, Cacique 97, etc., with music video coming out soon.
