The Information: I Foresee Trouble
Net wanneer de zon weer had moeten gaan schijnen is er 'I Foresee Trouble', het nieuwe album van The Information. Een lofzang aan de hopeloosheid, een ode aan de verbitterde zielen.
Deze duistere en meeslepende plaat leidt je naar de grote uitgestrekte weiden die niet groen zijn, maar dor.
Hoewel gruiziger in sound dan z'n voorganger, speelt de band dynamischer dan voorheen en heeft het nieuwe album een soort Denversound uit de lage landen, Overijssel om precies te zijn.
De donderpreken van Nick Cave en David Eugene Edwards zijn nooit ver weg, net als de sfeermakers van Calexico en de eenzame Townes van Zandt.
Alternatieve folk, mystieke sferen en een gitzwart rockrandje.

We schrijven het jaar 2009. The Information mag na amper twee optredens al op Eurosonic optreden en beleeft daardoor gelijk een mooie start.
Twee goed ontvangen EP’s en een finaleplek bij de ‘Grote Prijs Van Nederland 2011’ later, brengt de band in 2013 ‘Sounds Of The Backwoods’ uit.
De eerste langspeler wordt positief onthaald door zowel pers als publiek en de band doet datzelfde jaar de Popronde aan.
Het album staat zelfs 3 weken in de Album Top100.
Iets meer dan een jaar na de releaseshow in een afgeladen Hedon te Zwolle begint de band alweer aan de opnames van het nieuwe album: ‘I Foresee Trouble’.
Net als de voorgaande releases komt dit album volledig volgens de DIY werkethiek tot stand, waarbij de opnames, productie en mix door de band zelf gedaan worden.
Het album wordt op vinyl uitgebracht door Milkcow Records in het voorjaar van 2015.

The Information is a band that is dependably wide awake in the middle of the night, hatching schemes and obsessing. Their debut LP, Mistakes We Knew We Were Making, provides the dark, frenzied, and futuristic soundtrack for a lifestyle that perpetually races through neon-lit streets at 4 AM. The jet-engine roar of Stooges-style guitars tangles with Japanese video game synth hooks while vocalist Max Fresen gives you a piece of his insomnia-addled mania. With a bratty and volatile mix of attitude, chic, and provocation, Mistakes caps a year of nonstop growth for this band.
The Information started 2004 as one of a handful of noteworthy newcomers in the Boston music scene, and closed the year at the head of the pack. Their following grew with support engagements for national acts like Les Savy Fav, Swervedriver’s Adam Franklin, and Dear Leader. When their two tracks on The Pill’s Tomorrow Never Happened CD began to get commercial airplay, The Information headed back into the studio with a brace of ideas for a new record as visceral as and raw as their manic ambition, while remaining as sleek as and as smart as their collective stage persona. The resulting album is now in your hands.
Reviving '80s synth- rock and layering it with an ample dose of modern,
cheeky attitude, the Information got its point across beautifully in this
tightly arranged set that also appeared ready to career wonderfully out
of control at any time. A high percentage of great songs kept it all together.
One suspects the rather bratty Information knows how good it is, but
the group has the stage presence and talent to back it up.
