ohhhhhhhhhhh so this is why.. i had 3 songs by them (the swedes) like a long time ago and i thought they're good. so i went ahead and got Inside In/Inside Out thinking they're the same band and i remembered being really disappointed, i've even given the cd to a charity shop after clearing my room. i thought they changed their sound/vocalist and got really shit in the process. now i know. they're a whole different band. lolol

These Guys are from Sweden, altough all the other albums by The Kooks are from the "real" Kooks.

Guys~ don't pretend to be stupid, "annyR" told you already but ok let's do it again: "After getting lead guitarist Hugh Harris and drummer Paul Garred involved, they chose a band name from a song off the 1971 David Bowie album Hunky Dory, entitled "Kooks". When Virgin tried to trademark the name, they found that in the late/mid 1990s a Swedish band by the same name released a single in Sweden called "Too Much is Not Enough" (c) wiki

@YerkinOchrasy : well if you say that "The Kooks" are British while "Kooks" are Swedish, then why does it say "The Kooks" on the album cover? ^^

The Kooks formed at the Brighton Institute of Modern Music. They choose a song name from the 1971 David Bowie album Hunky Dory, entitled Kooks. It should be noted that when Virgin tried to copyright the name, they found that in the late/mid 1990s a Swedish band by the same name released a single in Sweden called Too Much of Nothing.

Michael and Henrik soon hooked up with lead guitarist Leo Dahlin and bass player Josef Zackrison. The original setup started working on making demos. They soon cut a record deal with Stockholm Records, after that the headman at the company Ola Håkansson had fallen in love with their demo containing the song Too Much Of Nothing.

The Kooks released their first single Too Much of Nothing back in 1998. It became a major radio chart climber in both Sweden and Denmark. They followed up with the debut album Too Much Is Not Enough in 1999 and started touring all over Sweden. They did support gigs with The Soundtrack of Our Lives and Robbie Williams. After this quick and apparently successful start the band came to a dead end
