would like this one a lot more if it wasn't as weedly-weedly-woo as it is. do like the way they've been opening shows with it.

How is it clear that Omar and Cedric "clearly had an agenda against their drummer during these recording sessions"? Perhaps they simply felt, as "the main duo" of the band, and therefore as the main co-creators of a specific sound that is captured throughout this album particularly (a sound not elicited in any of their other albums), as though 3/8 of the album's songs worked best without a drummer? As Amputechture was the third straight album in which they had worked with the Mars Volta's drummer at the time, Jon Theodore, to me it doesn't in any way suggest that they had any specific agenda against him or drummers in general ... they were simply trying to create original, provocative music. Anyway, I don't mean any offence, but simply asking you to elaborate upon your thought process, and, if you will, playing devil's advocate.

If I'm gonna start the album with Tetragrammaton anyway I might as well listen to Vicarious Atonement. :)
