The Mochines are a high-voltage rock'n'roll quartet from Cape Town, South Africa that deliver a dose of old-school hard rock ferocity. The boys have been decimating South Africa's ear drums since 2005. The guys have successfully finished two European tours raging Western Europeans in Holland, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and France. Their second full-length album, The Eagle Has Landed, released at the end of March, 2008, was recorded at Paris Studios in Fischhoek and features a new line-up: ex-LaDonnas frontman Ross Kersten (vox/guitars), Stefan de Witt (bass), JP Maré (guitars), and Patrick Magee (drums). JP, a classically trained musician, is the newest addition to the group and brings a new touch of rabble-rousing rock'n'roll riffs with him when The Mochines torch the stage.
The album is studded with 11 new explosive songs that are laced with head-bopping powerpop to temper the aural phantasmagoria of throaty vocals and rampant guitars. Album downloads can be purchased at www.rhythmrecords.co.za online and the band can be contacted at themochines@gmail.com.
'Hire the Losers' the first of the two full length records can be purchased at cargo-records.de on vinyl or cd, or ordered directly through the band at the site.
