Biography
There are at least two different bands called The Motives.
1. The Motives are a British rhythm & blues band fronted by Matt Taylor (vocals, guitar, songwriter). Also in the band are Andy Graham (bass), Roy Martin (drums) and Jonny Dyke (keyboards), all veterans on the blues scene. Formed at the end of 2010, The Motives draw their musical inspiration from 1940s New York, 1950s Chicago and 1960s London. Their debut album was released in June 2012.
2. The Motives were a psychedelic rock band formed in 1967 by British servicemen stationed in Germany. Personnel: Clint Talbot (vocals, rhythm guitar), Tom Winter (lead guitar, songwriter), Dave Field (Hammond organ), Barry Beaumont-Jones (bass) and John Redpath (drums). Their only release is a self-released EP entitled The World Is a Trapezium. The band split up in June 1968.
