Biography

In an industry where perception routinely trumps reality, it’s easy to confuse instantaneous buzz with enduring success. Deriving their name from the block on the south side of Chicago where they were born and raised, The Paxtons strive to create timeless, genre-bending music that innovates without regard to the latest trends.

Since officially forming as a group in 2008, members, Chris and Dave have elevated their status as rising stars in the industry on the backs of three critically-acclaimed mixtapes and one-off freestyles and songs. With each project, The Paxtons continue to build a legacy that highlights their dedication to the art of making music that falls nothing short of classic.

Inspired by their move to NYC earlier that year, 2010’s The Manhattan Project has proved to be The Paxtons’ most important and successful mixtape to date. More than 10,000 downloads in just over three months facilitated performances up and down the east and west coasts, Chicago, and at various venues in Austin, TX during SXSW. And with each high energy show, The Paxtons brought to life what The Smoking Section called, in effect, one of top 20 mixtapes of 2010.

As they prepare for the 2011 release of their first official album, Avenue A, Chris and Dave set out to prove once again that they will not be denied in their quest to deliver classic music that people will embrace for generations to come.
