Biography
It began with a man, a dream and some whiskey. This combination culminated into a cacophony of extreme donkey noises- the nebula that would one day eventually become the porch-centric American roots band better known as The Poa Porch Band.
The members mostly met through random encounters. Archibald (guitar, lead vocals) was the catalyst in turning these seeds of chance into regular musical gatherings. The porch sessions grew and a repertoire of traditional songs became the foundation for the band which includes Bruse Stentson (lead guitar, vocals, general bad-assery), Dylan (banjo, drums, earth nursing), Matt (mandolin, dance moves), Texas (fiddle, cello, food), and Spencer (upright bass, more dance moves). Coming from a wide range of musical influences and backgrounds, this sexy sextet moved forward with germinating originals. Everyone in the group contributes and often the original spark brought to the group becomes a raging wildfire when the element of each instrument is added. The band practices religiously every Sunday evening where the food, wine, beer and stories shared are just as important as the music. Whether it’s an old standard being recited, a new foot stomper being wailed out, or a spontaneous instrumental flowing freely, it all happens on the porch’s of our hearts.
