Biography
The Purge Effect is a melting pot of influences, defying genres and uncompromising in its delivery. The Purge Effect is a Baltimore, MD based Puerto Rican alternative rock band which is currently fiercely hitting the local scene with great success. The band's frontman E. David Nazario and drummer Ricardo Mercado form what is to be a band of expressions and dynamic delivery. Composing and creating music out of the constant flow of life.
E.David had plenty of unreleased songs which were ready to explode into what is now know as The Purge Effect. This new set of songs tapped into a different set of influences, and reached deep into personal territory when it came to writing lyrics. Poignant and honest, and at times, cryptic, the songs dealt with darker issues yet retained a strong sense of melody and hook.
Tackling all strings and vocals by himself, E.David felt ready to seek the guys who may take his portfolio of musical ideas to the next level. Due to their chemistry both on stage and in the studio, he recruited drummer Ricardo Mercado, bassist Rogel Maprangala, and enlisted the help of Eyes Like Oceans guitarrist Mike Johnson. Since then, The Purge Effect is continuosly working on what should be a great ride.
