Biography
The Ramps were formed in Wellington New Zealand in June 2006. Their line-up includes Shane Madzen on lead guitar, David Wynn on bass, Mike Gwyther on lead vocals and acoustic guitar and Eamon Nathan on drums. The Ramps sound is in the dark region between dance rock and power pop. They lean on Duran Duran, Bauhaus, David Bowie, The Cult, The Cure, Jim Morrison and more modern acts like The Killers, Metro Station, Interpol and Bloc Party for their influences. They gig regularly in Wellington and have a loyal following. Their lyrics veer between matters of the heart and social commentary.
