Biography
The Roots Rockers Club's sound stays close to the roots of reggae with low and steady riddims a la Burning Spear, but they also observe that many of the vibes that come from the rub-a-dub, rocksteady, and dancehall traditions are too positive to ignore. Add to that the fact that most of them were raised in the United States, thus giving them different kinds of influences other than reggae bands of the original 1978 movements. RRC has an interesting and deeper sound than you might have heard Rasta come with before.
The Roots Rockers Club is a nebulous organization whose Chicago chapter has brought together members from all over the world to promote and encourage people to feel a needed sense of community, a passion for global culture and awareness, and an understanding and love of reggae music and African movements. They have done this so far by playing reggae music with their band of the same name (The Roots Rockers Club). They need your support to make this movement larger!
