Biography

The Scotland Yard Sale is a rock outfit from Austin, Tx that formed in late 2007 during the conclusion of 2 years of duo-touring by singer/songwriter/guitarist Carter Francis and singer/songwriter/keyboardist Robert (Bobby) Martinez. Josh Thompson would claim drum duties, and the three were joined by Ted McLean, who became the group's bass player. An impromptu appearance by Rob Slater on tambourine at the band's first show resulted in his addition as an auxiliary percussionist.

The Scotland Yard Sale (sometimes referred to as TSYS) released their debut EP "Cityscapes" in May of 2008, and toured exclusively in Texas to promote it.

Rumors of a follow-up album, live release, and another EP started circulating in early 2009. A 3-track EP entitled "This Was Supposed To Be An Album" was released on May 15th, 2009, during one of the band's final shows. That performance was recorded in full, and was tentatively titled "This Was Supposed To Be A Party" (a live album). These projects were never finished, however, as the band began an indefinite hiatus in July of 2009 after McLean headed to LA to pursue a film career, and Slater began medical school.

Francis and Martinez went on to expand their harmonies in different directions with Again For The Win and Play By Numbers; Martinez also guests in StumbleDrunk.
