Biography
Punk-pop band whose original members are AndySocial (lead vox, guitar), Penny (bass) and The King (drums). Hailing from southern New Jersey, the Sheckies bill themselves as "Two fatties and a skinny kid". Heavily influenced by The Ramones and many of today's punk pop artists, The Sheckies are in the forefront of the "Pogo Punk" movement. Their name is taken from a "character" in the pointed documentary, "It Came From Hollywood."
The Sheckies have toured all over the Eastern half of the U.S. and have had releases on Cabana 1 records. They have performed with The Slotcars, the Scutches, Johnny 3, The Queers, The Apers, Screeching Weasel, and many others in their genre. Sheckies' music is noted for their simplicity, brevity, high energy and fun lyrics.
Recently, the Sheckies have employed several fill-in bassists, including Vinny of the Scutches, who appeared in the band's fourth music video, "I Need Xanax".
