The Shuffles is a Dutch band from the southern town of Rosmalen, which stormed the hitparades worldwide during the sixties. Originally a school band, the group started performing in 1963, as a 'dance orchestra'. In 1963 Albert West became the singer of the band. Their first single 'Cha-la-la, I need you' was a hit around Europe and in the United States. 'Bitter Tears' is another hit and several other songs reached high chart positions. Almost inevitably, Albert West, embarked on a solo career (in 1973), becoming a hugely popular AOR singer in The Netherlands (he passed away in 2015). In later years, The Shuffles (without West) occasionally performed during one-off reunions and 'oldies' events.
