Biography
YEAR ONE
In the beginning, The Sics had 4 members. The band started in April of 2005. The original line up consisted of Joe Sic (Joe Sack), Jeremey Depoyster, Tyler Sic (Mrs. Beaty, Tyler Beaty) and Ian Brackman. We played our first show in May to much fanfare. After our second show in June Jeremey quit the band and helped form 'THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA'. After a brief search for a new guitarist, we found Aaron Meyer. Aaron added quit a bit of new music and fun to the band. That fall The Sics continued to play a few more shows and in November decided it was time to get a new bassist. A short search revealed Miss Nicki Sic (Nicki Brooks) to us. Nicki's solid skill and fun loving attitude were just what we needed in the coming months.
YEAR TWO
Due to weird interband delusions of grandeur, The Sics "booked" a "tour" for the summer of 2006. This tour consisted of 3 shows in Indiana and Michigan… 2 of which, were at the same venue. Nevertheless, it was amazingly fun. It was soon discovered that Aaron could not come with us on tour, therefore we needed to find a new guitarist. Using our extensive (non-existent) contact list… we added Thomas (The Vegan) Stamper to the line up. The "Thanks Asshole" tour went well, and we came home to no shows booked. That fall we began looking for a second guitarist to add to the band. This is where we found Raalph Sic (guitarist of 'The Boobs'). Raalph brought new energy and a slew of new ideas and music styles to the band. At the same time, the 4 of us (Joe Sic, Thomas the Vegan, Tyler Sic, Nicki Sic) began and finished recording our EP, "Waging War on America"
YEAR THREE
In the Spring of 2007, we were riding high. We were playing a lot of shows and had just finished our ("Waging War on America") EP. Unfortunately, due to varying factors (trivial, personal, immature bullshit, "we're sorry Raalph"), Raalph Sic was reluctantly removed from the band. After a long and mostly showless summer, we realized we were mistaken, and asked Raalph to come back into the fold. Immediately after, we played with our best brother band, 'The Brews', at their last show, R.I.P.
YEAR FOUR
In the current year we have made more changes. We have developed an interesting, harder sound to add to our already 'shitty old punk rock' sound. We also had yet another line up change. Because of personal reasons, Thomas the Vegan decided to leave the band in the summer of '08. After a thorough search we decided to bring Bangz Vag (also of 'The Boobs') into the band. Although he has not played a show with us yet, he is moving along well. In the near future (hopefully Feb. '09), we will FINALLY have our full length released on Gem City Punx Records. Immediately followed by another EP (the 'Serious Now?' EP). That's a summary of our story so far… "…WE ARE THE SICS, SAYING, FUCK YOU!…"
