The Sovereigns were a Ska-Punk band from Hamburg, Germany. Formed as four-piece in early 2007, the band added a horn section in 2008 to become a complete band. Their signature sound consists of upstrokes and and punk riffs played by the guitars, catchy horn hooks and lyrics that are centered around rebellion and everyday life.
In 2009 the EP Kicking Out The Jams On A Sinking Ship was released, in january of 2010 the album Pick It Up! followed. After several line-up changes the band broke up in and reformed under the new name Skankshot.
