The Story Of Sound was a post-hardcore/alternative rock band from Orange City/Orlando, Florida, United States.
The band first sprang to life in 2008 founded by drummer Chadwell Keatley and vocalist Dale 'Spoon' Reinalda. Originally beginning as a pop rock project the music evolved into something more melodic and technical through the group’s evolving lineup including guitarist’s Jon Millan, Andy Provan, and bassist Jeff Sanchez.
The Story Of Sound released their first EP in May 2010. The album, The Razing, is a collection of songs with strong melodies and driving guitar riffs backed by a powerful rhythm section. The EP was recorded with Cameron Mizell at Chango Studios. The package comes together like a mix of Saosin, The Receiving End Of Sirens, Circa Survive, Northstar and Boysetsfire.
Lyrically, the band doesn’t take the emo route but does take a somewhat serious approach to its content. “The songs aren't about what most bands would write about,” explains Reinalda, “but more about all the things that life puts on our plate. We want the lyrics to provoke thought amongst our listeners.”
The band released two singles in 2013 with their vocalist Dale 'Spoon' Reinalda; Quantum, and Eastwood. After that they got their singer Nicki Cook Martin and released a few demos.
