Released in 1988, Life's Too Good was the debut studio album of Icelandic alternative rock band The Sugarcubes.
The Sugarcubes consisted of Björk (vocalist, keyboards), Einar Orn (vocalist, trumpet), Thor Eldon (guitarist), Braggi Olafsson (bassist), Magret 'Magga' Ornofsdottir (keyboards) and Sigtryggur Baldursson (drums). This album had massive international success, especially to their lead singer, Björk.
The lead single, 'Birthday' was released in August, 1987. This was declared 'Single of the Week' by influential music magazine NME. The singles, 'Coldsweat' and 'Dues' were released in January and April of 1988, and 'Birthday' was remixed by The Jesus and Mary Chain (known as the Christmas Mix), in August 1988. 'Motocrash' followed as the final single in the November.
Life's Too Good received largely positive reviews, especially from the British and American press. The album is regarded as helping The Sugarcubes as 'the biggest rock band from Iceland'.
