The Twist is a Hungarian band from Budapest, formed in 2009. The band consists of Krisztián Szűcs (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Zsolt Ábrahám (guitar), Oszkár Ács (backing vocals, bass guitar) and Gergő Szőcs (drums, percussion).

Envision the entwinement of two plants. One plant stemming from an already mixed musical heritage; including many things from raw rockandroll through jangling psychedelia and pure pop potential. The other plant stemms from a specifically Hungarian strain of strangeness, best described by the atmosphere of the works of the legendary novelist Krúdy Gyula. The Twist, just as this novelist, tells mesmerizing timeless tales of the most trivial events of the ugly present while remaining starry eyed, elusive and cruelly down-to-earth. They paint a complex picture of Eastern European realities. This dichotomy is the main drive of The Twist along with its local and global aspects. The band came to life from sheer inevitability. The members have been playing in well-known Hungarian bands for a long time. Just to mention a few: MIDEM EBBA Award winner Heaven Street Seven who also co-toured Australian legends The Church, Amber Smith and Yonderboi, Hungary’s sole internationally acclaimed pop-product. It was on a Yonderboi European tour in 2007 that the musicians made up their minds to finally make a band in its own right. Two of the tracks (The Original, Watching The Good Life) from their forthcoming album enjoy heavy airplay on Hungarian Radio. For their introductory video Message Come Aaron Phillips was the director of photography. Aarons previous credits include Incubus, The Raconteurs, Chris Cornell and TV On The Radio.
