This Montreal-founded 8, 9, 10 piece band of transducing troubadours specialize in "funeral dirges for the living". Dark polkas, menacing waltzes and horse-drawn lullabies filtered through a turn of the century whiskey soaked saloon. With a sound that is peculiar, yet familiar, The Unsettlers have earned a devoted following with their danceable, yet haunting blend of Klesmer, Beat Poetry and Turn of The Century Big Band Circus Music. This nine piece band comes equipped with a hornsection, accordion, clarinet, bass foot organ, piano, trash can drums, guitar and two backup vocalists. The sound is dark yet celebratory, manic, yet calm and assured. Since they first took to the stage in April 2007, they have played almost eighty gigs, including a headlining spot at Pop Montreal, and appearances at many other festivals, such as the Epicure Festival in Windsor and the Montreal Fringe Festival.
