Biography
In the end of 2004, Marcos decides to leave his project, called Soul Despair, to form a project of his own.
In the beginning of January, 2005, URBAN TALES is born, influenced by bands such as Anathema, Paradise Lost, Ever Eve, Entwine, Charon, Icon and the Black Roses, Opeth, etc.
With all members assembled, the Lisbon band decides to record a pre-demo and it was with that first work that U. T. were invited by Ricardo Capristano (known by his radical sports works and rally racing documentaries) to include a song in the DVD "MAIS1", a sports film that mixes the most awesome surf images with songs from new portuguese bands, such as The temple, Urban Tales, Cain, Fiona @ Forty, Sk6, etc.
After a few months of rehearsing, writing and recording songs, the band decided to record an official demo in order to gain label interest.
The official demo was very well received by the media and the public, with a huge praise on the creativity and the strength of the band, nominating Urban Tales as “the future reference of rock metal in Portugal” and achieving serious radio airplay all around the world with the single “In purity”.
The new single “Farewell”, in advance of the long awaited debut album “Diary of a No”, is also getting radio airplay all around the world, with awesome reactions from the fans and the media.
Now, with the long awaited debut album on the verge of being edited (October 2007), Urban Tales are looking forward to present their music all over the world, giving fans of Heavy Metal, Goth and Rock a set of songs that will take them on a trip they will never forget.
