sometime in 2010: "we need to choose a band name. ideally something memorable and uncontroversial" "what about...the vaccines?" "okay yeah that works"

Quite surprised to see the new album getting praise on here. It's just easy-going, boring, cookie-cutter indie music. Unfortunately, it doesn't do anything for me, which is a shame as I have a soft spot for this band.

The album is a bit outdated and uninspired, but just came back from their Berlin concert and I am happy to say: 1) all singles work live amazingly and the audience loves them 2) this is the best they sounded live and it was my fourth time seeing them after 2012, 2016 and 2018 3) such an amazing concert EVEN IF THEY DIDN'T PLAY BACK IN LOVE CITY </3

It's like for every good song they have there are at least 10 boring tunes you gotta get through. And the worst part is that production is just perfect sometimes, but it's ruined by terrible songwriting. A band to have a playlist for, but getting through a whole album is a challenge.

I usually found their albums to be a hoot listening to. For me production sometimes varies too much, but songwriting has been stable and entertaining from day 1. I like their tongue in cheek tone, over the top cringe and overall fun lyrics. Not everything's a heavy hitter and they didn't evolve as much as I thought they would, but I think they're still super fun to listen and bop to.

Personal opinion fair enough, but I honestly think WDYEFTV, Come of Age and Combat Sports are all back to back bangers song wise. Those albums have 0 skips for me. English Graffiti is a bit up and down but still good. back in Love City, whilst i enjoyed when it came out did not leave much of a lasting impression on me which is disappointing. But the few singles from the new album hold a lot of promise and sound more like WDYEFTV and Combat Sport mashup vibes! But i can see why people would find their songs hit or miss, I have been listening for years and am aware of my bias haha

Nossa , o álbum "come of age" é um dos melhores, eles desceram no meu conceito nesses últimos álbuns :/

What happened to this band? After Back in Love City when they went for a disguised bisexual flag as the cover art again I knew Planet of the Youth would be underwhelming but this time it's really concerning how bad it is

BACK IN LOVE CITY is a banger after banger! I like how they still sound exactly like THE VACCINES, but on neon steroids.

They were always doing some version of pop mixed with punk, surf rock, and synth.
