The Wax Girl is a Canadian Post-Rock project founded by Toronto-based producer and composer Alex Wright in 2012.
In January of 2012, Wright began writing and recording cinematic, shoegaze-esque demos in his makeshift home studio. During this time, Wright came up with a moniker for his demos by rearranging the letters of his name to spell out the words ‘The Wax Girl’.
While studying Audio Engineering/Production in college for a full year between 2012 and 2013, Wright expanded his production knowledge and gained the insight that was needed to pursue a professional career as a composer.
The Wax Girl’s debut full-length album is currently in pre-production and will be released in early 2015.
