Biography
The World At War were a three-piece instrumental metal band from Glasgow, Scotland. The line up initially consisted of Samuel Barber (Guitar), Ross Finnie (Bass) and Gerry McGrath (Drums). The band recorded one studio album, titled 'With The Best Will in the World' at 4th Street Studios, Glasgow, with production by Iain Cook, formerly of Aereogramme. Drummer Gerry McGrath left the band shortly before beginning the recording, so Jonny Scott of Take A Worm For A Walk Week played on the recordings, without joining the band. Bassist Ross Finnie moved away to New Zealand shortly after the recordings were finished, thus leaving Samuel Barber as the sole remaining member. The album was never fully released, and the band never played live.
