The Wrong Hands began as a tight knit group of friends from Los Osos CA. Member Nero Caesar moved to San Francisco in 2006 to begin a career in music production and met then largely unheard emcee Kae Hope and began work on what was at it's inception just to be a small batch of material. The Wrong Hands album came about after a mix tape turned into an ep and then a full blown concept piece. More than a year in gestation the two grew into their own and a concept was generated. Nero solidified a distinct production style during this time and created all the content from the beats, to the album art, and his own spits (typically split 50/50 with Kae). Kae created her current persona Hopie Spitshard during this album and the same year "We all Fall" was released Hopie shifted focus to her solo album "The Diamond Dame" and joined up with Ground Basics crew, a Vallejo based production team headed by 6fingers. While Hopie's solo material was far more accesible to the broader traditional hip hop scene the Wrong Hands album boldly stands as a unique foray into the infinite possibilities of experimentation with more musical beats, a futuristic theme, socio-political satire, a rejection of the status quo, and a lot of guests like Jon?Doe, Cyph4, Topkat, EyeaSage, DJ Rod Roc, and Heat. The single "Sin City" has been the break out song on the album and has made the underground rounds. Check it out.
Nero recently partnered with DJ MaddHatter to form MaddCaesar productions in 2010. The first teaser mixtape "Down the Rabbit hole" was released late 2010 and is to be followed by several more mixtapes during 2011 and a full album by 2012 featuring Satellite High and a plethora of special guests and friends.
