Biography
One of the bands named The Yams is a Hartford, Connecticut based electronic duo which began in 2005. Its members are named Johanna Raphael and Brendan Mahoney. Sometimes other people show up and they're generally the parents of the band members. Johanna's mother is a pianist and Brendan's mother talks a lot. Johanna studied art for awhile, but then decided on becoming an electrical engineer. Brendan studied music composition for awhile, but now is a government employee.
Their first album, "Look! Some Geese" came out in 2006 and saw really limited release. A second album is in the works, but has no title and not enough tracks to be an entire album. Brendan is confident that it'll be done by the middle of 2008.
They don't play live that much, but are often featured on Brendan's radio show, which is on Trinity College's WRTC.
